Carnival of the Arid

April 3rd, 2009 Posted by Larry Hogue in Art & Nature

DesertBlog is once again featured in the Carnival of the Arid, the roundup of desert-centric posts put together by Chris Clarke on his Coyote Crossing blog.

This issue includes hikes in Utah Canyonlands, caving near Barstow, video of javelinas in Arizona, a snow storm in Nevada, sound recordings of Pied Butcherbirds in the Australian Outback, a call to protect Gold Butte near Las Vegas, and our own Anza-Borrego wildflower bloom — all bookended by beautiful photos from Richard Schwartz (that’s his photo of “Sunflowers and Castleton Tower, Castle Valley, Utah,” above.)

Enjoy!
