Save the Desert Cahuilla Prehistoric Area

January 7th, 2009 Posted by Larry Hogue in off-road vehicles

Our friends at the Center for Biological Diversity have an alert asking people to write to help protect the Desert Cahuilla Area, east of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, from abusive off-roading. The State Parks department is considering applications for three massive off-road vehicle events in the area, and has provided little public notice of the chance to comment on the applications.

So, now’s your chance to help prevent these off-road rallies from doing further harm to the area, and to ask that the area be preserved, not destroyed. Just go here, and fill out the simple form.

For more info, check out our Desert Cahuilla page at our main website (but please don’t respond to the outdated action items there, or view our slideshow/video featuring music by Richard Thompson.
