		<description>Thank you for the great blog posting along with the mention of my podcast.  I have an episode from Death Valley coming out in the next month sometime as well as two episodes from Zion that I am working on right now.  I try to visit desert areas in the winter to avoid the heat and the crowds.

I had similar ideas about creation of beauty through devastating destruction during my visits to Crater Lake and Mt. Saint Helens last Summer.  Both are examples of such beauty that came about after massively destructive events.   It&#039;s a reminder that our shallow focus does not see enough of the picture to know or to judge weather an event is good or bad.  It just is, and if we allow nature to take things to their end without our manipulations, things will be alright, and could be spectacular.
