Sunrise Powerlink Coverage in High Country News

My Google news alert for Sunrise Powerlink popped up today with a nice post by Judith Lewis on her Little Green Animals blog. She gives the behind-the-scenes dirt on her new article in High Country News covering transmission for “renewable energy” in the west, focusing mainly on Green Path North, but also a bit on the Sunrise Powerlink. Quotes from David Hogan of CBD, Carl Zichella and Joan Taylor of the Sierra Club, and April Sall of the Wildlands Conservancy. The title of the post, “Save the Land or Green the Grid,” is a bit misleading, because Lewis offers plenty of quotes and evidence to show that we don’t really need to choose one over the other (and that in the case of the Sunrise Powerlink, it’s not about “greening the grid” at all).
