Desert Protection Summit photo The Desert Protective Council is co-sponsoring and helping to organize the Desert Protection Summit, a conference and public forum where you can learn more about the costs and environmental effects of off-road vehicles, and help find solutions to protect private lands, public lands and sacred sites from off-road vehicle abuse. The conference will be held in the town of Joshua Tree on Saturday, April 5, with Dr. Howard Wilshire, respected geologist, desert advocate and author of The Environmental Effects of Off-Road Vehicles, as the keynote speaker.

The all-day event is free and open to the public, though donations will be accepted. Topics include: impacts on sacred sites, private property and protected areas; panel discussions on using the law; conservation efforts; addressing harassment and intimidation; challenges with law enforcement; and grant funding.

See DPC’s website for complete details. We hope to see you there!
